Version 6.0 is the technical basis for upcoming development work. Customers who buy Version 6.0 will receive the future CRA-related Version 6 updates at no additional license cost.
Haar near Munich, Germany, October 6, 2026. Softing Industrial has launched Version 6.0 of dataFEED OPC Suite Extended. This release is the technical platform on which the software will evolve to meet the requirements of the EU Cyber Resilience Act (CRA). Version 6.0 is not yet CRA-compliant. The required enhancements will be added gradually in the following Version 6 releases. Anyone buying Version 6.0 will get these future 6.x versions, with their CRA-related improvements, without needing a new license.
A Platform for Future CRA Enhancements
Version 6.0 is intentionally not a classic feature update. It focuses on technical and security improvements, and on keeping the software secure, reliable and maintainable over the long term. It is the starting point for adapting dataFEED OPC Suite Extended to the Cyber Resilience Act. The CRA-specific functions and changes will arrive in later Version 6 releases.
The main benefit for customers is predictability. By choosing dataFEED OPC Suite Extended Version 6.0 now, they invest in the product generation that Softing will keep developing toward CRA compliance. Upgrading to the CRA-compliant Version 6.x release will not require a new license.
Established Capabilities for Industrial Data Integration
dataFEED OPC Suite Extended is a software solution for OPC UA and OPC Classic communication. It also links industrial systems to IT and cloud applications. It integrates controllers from the leading manufacturers and connects existing automation infrastructure to applications based on OPC UA, MQTT and REST.

Phase-Out of dataFEED OPC Suite Base
dataFEED OPC Suite Base, which has been sold alongside the Extended edition, will be gradually withdrawn from the portfolio. The Base license stays available in its current Version 5 until October 1, 2027. It will not be developed further for CRA requirements.
New customers, and users who want to expand their installations with future CRA requirements in mind, should turn to dataFEED OPC Suite Extended Version 6, the new product generation.
